The Arc’s Core Skills Development Programs are for kids aged 7yrs+ who just want to shred! With an alpine focus, the program is focused on developing the fundamental skills kids need to ski at a top level, exposing young rippers to Alpine Racing, Ski X and Moguls, as well as off-piste skiing.

THE

TRAINING

Our focus in The Arc is multidisciplined core skill development with an alpine focus, in alignment with Snow Australia’s current pathways framework for the development of young skiers.

We believe that when an athlete chooses to pursue one particular discipline, they first need to develop solid all-mountain skills that will then transfer into other disciplines.

The Arc offers a Core Skill Development program, as well as an Alpine-specific training program, both delivered in the world-class Italian resort Livigno.

As a racer, Jono travelled to resorts world-wide and Livigno is his pick for the training opportunities it delivers. Read on to find out more about Livigno as a training location.

  • Livigno consists of 2 x main resort areas – Mottolino and Carosello 3000; both of which form part of the wider ‘Livigno’ ski resort. 30 lifts and over 110kms of on piste skiing, plus endless valleys of lift-accessible off-piste terrain.
  • Livigno has a lift capacity of 50,000 people per hour. Considering the town has a maximum capacity rate of 13,000 people, even in peak season lift queues are minimal. Add to this that The Arc takes place during an off-peak time (January), you are almost guaranteed minimal wait times.
  • Dedicated Alpine Racing (GS) training lift for The Arc:
    • From resort open to close on nominated training days, The Arc has a dedicated training lift for GS (Alpine Racing), meaning the opportunity for high repetition of gate training.
    • A variety of GS training hills, providing multiple variations in length and difficulty.
  • Access to two Ski/Rider-X courses of varying difficulty (conditions dependent).
