The

Training

The Arc’s Slopestyle Program is designed in alignment with Snow Australia’s current pathways framework for the development of young skiers.

During the intensive Slopestyle Program, young shredders will develop all facets of Slopestyle style and technique to ensure they have all the foundations needed to safely send it large in competition. Designed for kids aged 12yrs+, athletes in this program will train with world-class Slopestyle coaches in the Mottolino Snowpark, long regarded as one of Europe’s top 3 terrain parks and a contender for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Mottolino is one of the two ski areas of Livigno, located in the north-west of Italy, not far from the Swiss-Italian border. For more than 15 years, Mottolino Snowpark has been known as the best snow park in Italy and one of the best three in Europe. The park as 4 lines, from S to XL and is 800 metres long.

Each winter, the best freestyle skiers and boarders flock to the park for photo shoots and training programs. To drop some names, Nick Goepper, Aimee Fuller, Seppe Smits, Tom Wallisch, Jonas Hunziker, Sabine Hunziker, Marco Donzelli, Billy Morgan, Katie Summerhayes and numerous National Teams have chosen Mottolino as their training location.

According to Australian Nick Draxl, Head Coach and Manager of Mottolino Snowparks:

“The opportunity for young Aussie slopestyle skiers to train at Mottolino Snowpark with The Arc’s highly skilled coaching team is super exciting. I’ve coached at many snowparks around the world and Mottolino is hands down the best.”

On top of this, The Arc has secured unrivaled support and commitment from Livigno’s tourism board, meaning the training opportunity is unlike anything The Arc’s skilled coaching team has seen. Read on to learn why:

  • Unrestricted access to Mottolino and Carosello 3000 mountains; both of which form part of the wider ‘Livigno’ ski resort. 30 lifts and over 110kms of on piste skiing, plus endless valleys of lift-accessible off-piste terrain.
  • Livigno has a lift capacity of 50,000 people per hour. Considering the town has a maximum capacity rate of 13,000 people, even in peak season lift queues are minimal. Add to this that The Arc takes place during an off-peak time (January), you are almost guaranteed minimal wait times.
  • Dedicated Alpine Racing (GS) training lift for The Arc (for Alpine Racing & Core Skill Development Programs):
    • From resort open to close on nominated training days, The Arc will have a dedicated training lift for GS (Alpine Racing), meaning more gate training in one day than you could normally achieve in a week.
    • A variety of GS training hills, providing multiple variations in length and difficulty.
  • Access to two Ski/Rider-X courses of varying difficulty (for Alpine Racing & Core Skill Development Programs):
    • Options for purpose-built additions specific for The Arc’s training program requirements.
  • Access to the Mottolino Snowpark (Mottolino is one of Livigno’s resort areas) (for Slopestyle Programs):
    • The Mottolino Snowpark has been regarded as the best snow park in Italy for 15+yrs, and has been voted the best in Europe 3 times (most recently in 2017). The park has 4 lines from S to XL and is 800 meters long. Mottolino has hosted some of the biggest European Slopestyle events including The Red Bull Nine Knights, Burton European Open, World Rookie Fest amongst others.
